Vehicle Information

The new Honda Civic Hybrid features a fresh look - bigger and sleeker than the previous Civic Hybrid.  The new Civics in general are roomier, quieter, more powerful, more refined and a lot of fun to drive.  Honda declares the new exterior "expressive," calling attetion to it's "sweeping roofline" and steeply raked windshield.

The appearance of the new Civic Hybrid is not the only change it has undergone.  Honda claims that fuel economy has increased by four percent during city driving and six percent on the highway.  The new Civic Hybrid has earned a fuel-economy rating from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)  of 49 mpg for city driving and 51 mpg on the highway. In all 50 states, it qualifies as an Advanced-Technology Partial Zero Emissions Vehicle (AT-PZEV).

The new Civic Hybrid now comes equipped with the 4th generation (IMA) Integrated Motor Assist and the introduction of a high profile camshaft. Combined output totals 110hp at 6,000 rpm and 123 pound-feet of torque from 1,000 to 2,500 rpm. Also, the VCM (Variable Cylinder Management) allows the deactivaion of all four cylinders when cruising and decelerating. Another feature referred to as Idle stop is the feature on all hybrids that shuts off the gas engine at stoplights or waiting in clogged traffic. This features is employed more often than on the '05. This technology allows the car to run on electric power only resulting in less gasoline consumption.

Not only has Honda radically changed the exterior on the new Civic Hybrid but the interior has also undergone some major changes.  The large and deeply angled windshield has wroght a deep and expansive dashboard.  This inspired Honda to create a two-tier dashboard display.  Visible through the steering wheel is the analog tachometer, located next to the battery display, that shows when you're using up electrons and when they're being returned.  Above the two-spoke steering wheel and at the base of the windshield are the digital speedometer, the fuel-economy bar graph, and the fuel-level indicator.  Interior standards include cruise-control, tilt/telescopic steering colomn, center console with sliding armrest and storage compartment, and a 160-watt XM-ready CD stereo system.

Standard safety equipment includes front side-impact airbags, side-curtain airbags, active head restraints, antilock braking with electronic brake distrubution and brake assisst, and daytime running lights. This, in addition to the front and rear crumple zones and  the side-impact door beams, all contribute to the Civic's 5-star front and 4-star side-impact ratings.

The all new Honda Civic Hybrid: Eco-friendly; Safe; Reliable; FUN!
