Deter Fleas Naturally (08/13/08)
To keep biting pests away from your furry friends, try smuggling a clove of finely chopped or crushed garlic into your pets food twice a week. This makes their blood unappetizing to parasites, and so avoids the need for conventional flea powders, collars, and sprays, which contain toxic organophosphates and pesticides associated with animal, human, and environmental health problems. Reinforce this line of defense by putting rosemary and lavender in your pets' beds or neem or citrus oil on their coats. (Joanna Yarrow)
